Here are the next steps to move forward to completing the purchase of your new property once your mortgage has officially been offered:
- The mortgage lender will send a copy of the mortgage offer to both you and the solicitor.
- You should by now have received the legal paperwork from the nominated solicitor, if you haven’t already, please ensure all questionnaires have been completed in full, signed and returned.
- If you have are still in an early repayment charge period with your current lender that we are not aware of, please tell both us and the solicitor so they can arrange a completion date accordingly.
- If you would like to complete as soon as possible you can waive your offer reflection period by calling your solicitor which will ensure they work to drawdown on the mortgage straight away.
- If you need to post any further documents to the solicitor please send by either recorded or special delivery and provide us with the tracking numbers.
- If you have any email correspondence from the solicitor then please copy us in on any replies.
- If you have any questions at all to do with the either the mortgage offer or legal documents you can speak with either us or the solicitor and we will be happy to help.
- Ensure you have adequate building insurance in place to meet your mortgage offer conditions – we will contact you to discuss this.
We stay in regular contact with the nominated solicitor and will contact you whenever we have news to ensure your purchase completes as soon as possible.
A MORTGAGE IS A LOAN SECURED AGAINST YOUR HOME. YOUR HOME MAY BE REPOSSESSED IF YOU DO NOT KEEP UP REPAYMENTS ON YOUR MORTGAGE OR ANY OTHER DEBT SECURED ON IT.
YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY AN EARLY REPAYMENT CHARGE TO YOUR EXISTING LENDER IF YOU REMORTGAGE.
